Canvas Printing

Canvas printing is a method of transferring images onto canvas fabric, creating a textured, artistic piece suitable for display. This technique enhances photographs and artwork, making them look like traditional paintings. The final product is typically stretched over a wooden frame or printed on rolled canvas for easy mounting. Canvas prints are popular for home decor, galleries, and custom gifts due to their durability and aesthetic appeal. Once printed, the canvas can be stretched over a wooden frame, providing a ready-to-hang piece of art, or it can be rolled for convenient shipping and handling. The textured surface of the canvas adds a unique visual appeal, enhancing the overall appearance of the image.

Marketing Ideas
Here are some creative marketing ideas for utilising canvas prints and wall art to enhance your branding and marketing efforts:

1. Branded Wall Art: Design unique canvas prints that incorporate your brand elements—logos, colours, and catchy phrases. Use these prints in your office or retail space to reinforce brand identity and create a cohesive atmosphere.
2. Art Collaborations: Team up with local artists or designers to create limited edition canvas prints that reflect your brand’s ethos. This not only supports the local art community but also creates buzz around exclusive artwork that clients will be eager to purchase.
3. Point of Sale Displays: Create visually appealing point of sale displays with your canvas prints in your store or at events. Utilise these displays to highlight special promotions or new collections effectively.
4. Trade Shows and Events: Use your canvas prints as part of your booth design at trade shows and events. Large, eye-catching artwork can attract attendees to your booth and help to define your brand space.
5. Storytelling Through Art: Use wall art to tell a story about your brand’s journey, mission, or values. This can be displayed in your office or a promotional video, helping customers connect emotionally with your brand.
6. Seasonal Campaigns: Develop seasonal wall art collections that tie into different holidays or seasons. Promote these collections through email marketing and social media to keep your brand relevant throughout the year.
7. Interactive Social Media Posts: Create social media challenges where followers submit photos of how they incorporate your wall art into their lives. This encourages engagement and showcases the versatility of your products.
8. Art Giveaways: Run promotional campaigns or contests where participants can win a canvas print. This not only increases engagement but also provides opportunities to capture new leads and grow your audience.
9. Corporate Gifting: Use customized canvas prints as corporate gifts for clients or employees. High-quality, personalised artwork can leave a lasting impression and strengthen business relationships.
10. Themed Photo Ops: Set up themed photo stations using your canvas prints at events or in-store displays. Encourage customers to take photos and share them on social media to increase your brand’s exposure.
11. Educational Content: virtual showroom on your website showcasing your canvas prints in various lifestyle settings. This allows customers to visualise how the art will look in their own spaces and encourages purchasing. By implementing these strategies, you can effectively utilise canvas prints and wall art to strengthen your branding and marketing efforts, making a lasting impact on current and potential customers.

Non-White Substrates

  • Spot Colours developed for non-white substrates (e.g. Kraft or backside substrates) must be appropriately designed to manage the brand expectations, operational efficiency, and run-to-run consistency. All inks developed for this printing condition maintain a minimum amount of opaque additives to achieve your colour expectations and maintain printability requirements.
  • Inks developed using the above method often affect the substrate's colour intent. If opacity requirements exceed the above specification to achieve the desired colour, the customer must consider printing white under the spot colour.
  • Printing white ink requires different approaches depending on Flexo and offset. The sheet-fed offset requires UV curing, the web offset requires UV/EB curing, and the Flexo is wet-trapped. These approaches are location-dependent and have varying print capability requirements.

Proofing Expectations Proofs provided to BPP for colour must adhere to the below conditions:

  • Spot Colours: BPP strongly suggests using a proofing RIP that leverages a spectral proofing engine and has a track record of providing a visual colour match for spot colours overprinting or interacting with other spot or process colours.
  • Spot Colour Dot Area: BPP requires all dot gains associated with spot colours to be measured and adhere to linear SCTV (spot colour tone value). Please refer to ISO 20654 and/or the proofing vendor for details on achieving this specification.
